Zakir Naik: “In some Islamic countries, for example Saudi Arabi etc. propagation of other religions is prohibited. Even construction of any place of worship is also prohibited. So many non-Muslims ask that when Muslims are allowed to preach and build their mosques in non-Muslim countries then why are we not allowed to to do so in Muslim countries? In my reply I ask the non-Muslims that suppose you are a principal of a school and you intend to select a math teacher. Three candidates come and you ask them what the total of 2+2 is? The first replies that 2+2=3, the second answers that 2+2=4 and the third answers that 2+2=6. Now I ask these non-Muslims would they allow the candidates who say 2+2=3 and 2+2=6 to teach in their school? They reply no, I ask why? They say because he does not have correct knowledge of Mathematics. Similarly, as far as matters of religion are concerned, we (Muslims) know for sure that only Islam is a true religion in the eyes of God, therefore knowing that Islam is the only true religion we do not allow propagation of any other religion. As far as the second question regarding building of churches or temples is concerned, how can we allow this when we know their religion is wrong? And when their worshipping is wrong? Thus we will not allow such wrong things in our country.”
Shahid Masood: “Will it not be against Human Rights?”
Zakir Naik: “No it will not at all. If a non-Muslim wishes to practice his religion in an Islamic country then he can do so inside his home but he can’t propagate his religion.”
“Zina can be of 2 types, No. 1 is that unlawful sexual intercourse done by an unmarried man and woman, it’s called as fornication in English. And if unlawful sexual intercourse is done by a married man or woman it is called as adultery. The punishment for both, it differs.
That means if any man or woman who is not married, if they have unlawful sexual intercourse, the punishment is 100 lashes, flogging them with 100 lashes.
And as far as punishment for adultery is concerned, unlawful sexual intercourse done by a married man or woman, it’s mentioned in Sahih Bukhari….So the punishment for adultery, unlawful sexual intercourse done by married man is Islam, it is stoning to death.
So homosexuality is forbidden in Islam and the punishment for homosexuality is death.”
“In Islam, a person who has committed blasphemy can either be killed or crucified, or his opposite hands and feet can be cut off, or he can be exiled from that land.”
“Islam the religion of truth will prevail over all the other ways of life whether it be Communism, Secularism, Christianism, Judaism, Hinduism. Islam is destined to supersede all, to master them all, to overcome them all.”
Shahid Masood: “Why is there a capital punishment for a Muslim living in an Islamic State who chooses to adopt any other religion? If a Muslim finds another religion more appealing, or if a non-Muslim, after accepting Islam, decides to return to his/her previous religion, why does Islam impose a death penalty for such a person?”
Zakir Naik: “If a Muslim becomes a non-Muslim and propagates his or her new religion then it is as good as treason. There is a death penalty in Islam for such a person. In many countries the punishment for treason is also death. If an army general discloses his army’s secrets to another country then there is a death penalty or life imprisonment for such a person according to the laws of most of these countries. Similarly if a Muslim becomes non-Muslim and propagates his new religion then there is a death penalty for such a person in Islam.”
“To ask if someone wants to convert from Islam to any other religion? Fine. In the year after he will be among the losers. As far as the death penalty is concerned there is difference of opinion among scholars. What some of the scholars say is that if that person, after converting, if he propagates his new faith and speaks against Islam then the penalty of death is there.”
“Islam (?) a girl can get married as long as she reaches puberty…she reaches puberty, she can marry. Same for a man also, he can marry once he reaches puberty.”
“So black magic is Kufr in Islam and the punishment for a person who practices black magic is death penalty.”
